Young Blogger Reveals Sense of Style

The Style Rookie and Rookie Mag are two blogs set up by a high school student named Tavi.  Both blogs reveal a distinct sense of style (which one hopes to see in any blog about fashion), but Tavi's blogs go a bit deeper still.  Both blogs feature a great balance of visual and written material, holding the eye and the reader's interest.

The Style Rookie is more an personal opinion / sharing blog, as you can see from her "Birth of Rookie" post.  She share's insights, her mood, and fun photos.  Rookie Mag is particularly interesting in the way she brings in outside collaboration while developing the regular posting rhythm.  In Tavi's Editor's Letter, she does a nice job pointing out her goals for the blog, setting a welcoming tone which invites new articles and reader feedback.  For those who aren't sure how to find time to blog, she offers a nice insight into her working method:
"We post three times a day: roughly when school ends, when dinner starts and when it’s really late and you should be writing a paper but are Facebook stalking instead. (Oh. It’s just me who does that? Cool.) (Also, LIAR.)"
She's informative, cheeky, and fun to follow. And she clearly has a strong following - as of September 2011, she has 104 comments on her Editor's letter - an excellent showing, I must say.

Possibly more impressive still is the staff she's brought together. Collaboration is a real strength here, and it's something I recommend you consider if you'd like to put together an authoritative website.
