Contents

A major disadvantage to blogs is that all of your posts appear in a linear fashion by chronology.  This is great if you have people who follow you regularly - when they visit your page, they immediately see the latest news.  But this can be confusing for new visitors looking for specific information.  A Table of Contents can help them find what they're looking for quickly and easily.

If you'd like to learn more about formatting options within each post, take a look at my quick tutorial on Your Blogger Toolbar.  Or if you're not sure that Blogger is right for you, then take a look at Why I Recommend Blogger.

  5. Revised Document Post (coming soon!)
Notice how it helps to create a Table of Contents which is more complete than the posts in your blog.   It shows the direction your blog is going and provides readers with an idea of what's to come.  This can encourage readers to return to your blog for updates.
